Can You Lose Weight In Three Days

The three day diet is one of the fad diet plans which have survived the test of time since 1985. Often referred to as the Cleveland clinic diet, the three day diet is a regiment which is followed strictly for three days and then followed by four or five days of normal eating then getting back to the diet plan again. The three day diet plan promises to quickly help you lose weight, cleanse your body and increase your energy while at the same time lowers the cholesterol content in your body.

Three day diet is a short term plan which promises to help you lose up to ten pounds within three days. This lost weight is because of a sudden calories drop mostly due to lose of water and some weight loss is because of fat. To achieve the weight lose exercise is not mentioned, but minimum workouts are necessary and you must not over eat or under eat.

Three day diet plan

Day one 
Breakfast 
• A half grapefruit or some juice, 
• Tea or black coffee (1-2 packets low, sweet or equal) or a glass of water, 
• A piece of toast with a tablespoon of peanut butter.

Lunch 
• A piece of toast, 
• Half a cup of tuna, 
• Tea or black coffee (1-2 packets low, sweet or equal) or a glass of water,

Dinner 
• An apple, 
• A cup of carrot, 
• A cup of green beans, 
• A cup of regular vanilla ice-cream, 
• Three ounces of either chicken or lean meat.

Day two 
Breakfast 
• A piece of toast 
• A half a banana 
• An egg 
• Tea or black coffee (1-2 packets low, sweet or equal) or a glass of water,

Lunch 
• Eight regular saltine-crackers 
• A cup of tuna or cottage cheese

Dinner 
• Two beef franks 
• A half a banana 
• A half a cup of carrot 
• A cup of cabbage or broccoli 
• A half a cup of regular vanilla ice-cream

Day three 
Breakfast 
• Tea or black coffee (1-2 packets low, sweet or equal) or a glass of water, 
• An apple 
• An ounce of cheddar cheese 
• Five regular saltine-crackers

Lunch 
• A piece of toast 
• A boiled egg 
• Tea or black coffee (1-2 packets low, sweet or equal) or a glass of water,

Dinner 
• A cup of melon 
• A cup of cauliflower 
• A cup of carrots 
• A cup of tuna 
• A half a cup of regular vanilla ice-cream

You should drink up to four glasses of diet soda or water daily. With the three day diet plan you can use salt, herbs, vinegar, pepper, lemon, mustard, soy sauce, ketchup and Worcestershire on the food.

Other condiments allowed include cooking spray, mustard, a dash of pepper or salt and lemon.

Substitutes for the three day diet food include: 
• Orange instead of the grapefruits 
• Instead of ice cream you can use frozen yogurt 
• Cottage cheese instead of tuna and vice versa 
• Broccoli instead of cauliflower and vice versa 
• Green beans instead of cauliflower or broccoli 
• Cottage cheese instead of tuna and vice versa

How the three day diet works 
There is no documentation explaining how the three day diet help lowers cholesterol, cleanse your body increase your energy and burn fats. This food combination helps create an unique-metabolic reaction which boosts the fat burning process.

The three day diet lasts for only three days and it can be repeated after four to five days of normal eating. This helps by preventing your body metabolism from slowing down and reverting back to storing fats and starvation mode. The repetition after every four or five days helps the body to develop a fat burning metabolism.
